Gov Ganduje Condoles With Kano, Family, Over Justice A.B. Wali’s Death

With deep sense of sorrow and heartfelt condolence, the governor of Kano state Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje condoles with the families, people of Kano state and the Nigerian judiciary over the death of Justice Abubakar Bashir Wali, a retired Supreme Cout Justice.

Wali was Khadi, Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General of Kano state, Justice of Court or Appeal, who proceeded to the Supreme Court as Justice and was the Chairman of Kano State Law Reform Commission.

He studied Islamic Law in Azhar University, Egypt, and later went to United Kingdom where he studied Common Law. Governor described the late Justice as a Compendium of Nigerian Legal system, with wealth of experience, immense contributions to the state and federal judiciary, who spent many fruitful years in the service before his retirement.

Governor Ganduje expressed his heartfelt condolence message and described the death as not only an irreparable and great loss to his family and the state, “His death creates great vacuum in the judiciary in the country.”

“We can still remember his immense contributions in the judiciary at the state and federal levels. His days as a legal luminary were full of mentoring, coaching and shaping judicial officers at all levels. The agony of his death will remain with us for many years to come,” governor stated.

“On behalf of the government and people of Kano state, we are praying for Allah’s Blessing on the reposed soul of late Justice A.B. Wali. May Allah give his family the fortitude to bear the loss,” he prayed.
