President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed his planned trip to Iperu, Ogun State, opting instead to visit Jos in response to recent deadly attacks in Plateau State.
The President is expected to commiserate with the state government and residents following the killings of several citizens in renewed violence that has drawn national concern.
Shift in Schedule
The visit to Jos replaces an earlier engagement scheduled for Thursday, where Tinubu was to flag off operations at the Gateway International Cargo Airport in Ogun State. The commissioning has now been rescheduled for Saturday, April 4.
After the Plateau visit, Tinubu will proceed to Lagos to observe the Good Friday holiday.
Ogun Engagement
On Saturday, the President will travel to Ogun State to commission the cargo airport and inaugurate two commercial aircraft aimed at boosting import and export activities in the state.
He is also expected to inaugurate a new Federal Operations Unit facility of the Nigerian Customs Service, alongside operational vehicles.
Lagos Projects and Easter Holiday
Tinubu will return to Lagos for the Easter holiday, during which he is scheduled to commission several infrastructure projects executed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The projects include the Ojota/Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information System Building, a multi-agency complex named after the President, and a new school complex.
Bayelsa State Visit
Before returning to Abuja, the President will round off his four-state tour with a visit to Bayelsa State on April 10, where he is expected to commission projects completed under Governor Duoye Diri.
