Tinubu Condemns Plateau and Kaduna Killings, Orders Security Crackdown

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condemned the recent attacks in Plateau and Kaduna states, describing them as “barbaric and cowardly,” and vowed that perpetrators will be brought to justice.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the President decried the killing of residents in Angwan Rukuba, Jos, Plateau State, as well as the attack on wedding guests in Kahir village, Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, which resulted in deaths and abductions.
Tinubu said the assaults on “defenceless citizens” were not only acts of violence but deliberate attempts to provoke reprisals and escalate tensions in affected communities.
He directed security agencies to intensify efforts to track down those responsible and warned against the spread of misinformation capable of inflaming the situation. The President also cautioned sections of the media against framing the attacks along religious lines.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to restoring peace, Tinubu stressed the importance of public cooperation with security directives, including evacuation and relocation advisories where necessary.
He called on security agencies to act more proactively by leveraging intelligence to prevent future attacks, while ordering the immediate rescue of remaining abductees from the Kaduna incident. He also welcomed the safe return of two victims.
The President commended Caleb Mutfwang and Uba Sani for their efforts in managing the crises and supporting rescue operations.
Tinubu further assured Nigerians that the Federal Government is investing in advanced security equipment to enhance real-time tracking and response to criminal activities across the country.
He extended condolences to families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery
