FG Begins Prosecution of Benue Killings Suspects

The Federal Government said on Sunday that suspects arrested over the killings in Yelwata, a community in Benue State, will be arraigned in court on Monday.
In a statement, the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation said the suspects, who are “strongly linked” to the attacks, will appear before Federal High Court, Abuja, with proceedings to be presided over by Justice Joyce Abdul-Malik.
The government said the arraignment follows a detailed investigation conducted through collaboration among security and law enforcement agencies.
It added that the prosecution would be pursued to ensure accountability and to deter threats to national security.
The administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to protecting lives and property in line with constitutional provisions, the statement said.
