NADF, NIRSAL Deepen Partnership on Agric Mechanisation, Financing

The National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) and NIRSAL Plc have moved to expand collaboration on agricultural mechanisation, concessional financing and primary production support as part of efforts to boost food security and improve agricultural output nationwide.
The renewed engagement followed a meeting between both organisations in Abuja, building on earlier discussions around agricultural financing and support for primary production.
Speaking during the meeting, NADF Executive Secretary/CEO, Mohammed A. Ibrahim, said stronger institutional cooperation had become necessary to address current challenges in the agricultural sector and maximise limited resources.
According to him, Nigeria’s agricultural realities require closer collaboration among institutions capable of delivering sustainable impact across the value chain.
“The current realities within Nigeria’s agricultural sector demand stronger institutional collaboration capable of maximising limited resources and delivering sustainable impact across the agricultural value chain,” Ibrahim said.
NIRSAL Plc Executive Director, Operations, Ewaen Imohe, also stressed the importance of accessible financing in driving mechanisation and productivity.
“Accessible and affordable financing remains a critical pillar for improving mechanisation and agricultural productivity,” Imohe said.
The meeting examined opportunities in irrigation-supported farming, concessional financing and technology-based monitoring systems.
Technical teams from both institutions also agreed to continue engagements on workable partnership models aimed at improving agricultural productivity, strengthening value chains and supporting national food security.
