BREAKING: Tinubu Suspends Emergency Rule in Rivers, Directs Fubara to Resume Thursday

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has lifted the emergency rule imposed on Rivers State, directing Governor Siminalayi Fubara to return to office on Thursday, September 18.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the President also instructed Deputy Governor Ngozi Nma Odu and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to resume their constitutional duties immediately.
The state has been under emergency rule for the past six months, following heightened political tensions and security concerns. With Wednesday’s directive, normal governance is expected to resume, marking a significant shift in the political climate of the oil-rich state.
