Edo Shooting: APC Accuses ADC of Self-Inflicted Political Drama

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the African Democratic Congress (ADC) of engaging in what it described as “self-inflicted political drama” following the reported shooting incident involving ADC members in Edo State.
In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC dismissed as “baseless and delusional” the ADC’s allegation that the ruling party was responsible for the incident.
The APC said it was irresponsible for the opposition party to apportion blame before security agencies conclude investigations, stressing that such premature accusations undermine due process and portray the ADC as “accuser, investigator, prosecutor and judge in its own cause.”
Describing the ADC’s reference to “acts of terrorism by the ruling APC” as reckless and unjustifiable, the party said such claims were insensitive to the sacrifices of Nigerian security personnel currently confronting terrorism across the country.
While condemning violence in all forms, the APC called on the police and other law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough and expeditious investigation into the incident and bring those responsible to justice.
The party, however, insisted that investigations should examine reports of internal leadership disputes and factional clashes within the ADC, which it said could provide useful leads.
The APC maintained that it had no role whatsoever in the incident, noting that it remains focused on governance and recent electoral victories in the Federal Capital Territory, Rivers, and Kano states.
Reaffirming confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, the party expressed gratitude to Nigerians for what it described as growing support nationwide.
