The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem by identifying and supporting innovative talents within the Agency and across Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
Speaking at the Final Pitching Exercise of the NASENI Innovation Assessment, the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NASENI, Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, said the initiative was inspired by the recognition that much of the talent and innovative capacity often sought externally already exists within Nigeria’s public institutions.
“Often, the talent we search for externally already exists within,” Halilu said.
He explained that the Innovation Assessment was designed to identify promising innovators and support commercially viable ideas with the potential to deliver national impact.
Halilu said the quality of ideas presented during the final pitching demonstrated the depth of innovative talent within public institutions, adding that NASENI remains committed to creating pathways that can transform promising ideas into practical solutions and sustainable enterprises.
The programme forms part of NASENI’s broader resolve to strengthen Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem, accelerate commercialisation and support homegrown solutions capable of contributing to national development.
