Open Letter to Oyetola: ‘Nepotism and Imposition Threaten Osun APC Unity,’ Adeoye Warns

Adedamola Adeoye, a concerned Osun-born political observer based in Manchester, UK, has written an open letter to Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, former Governor of Osun State, urging him to rethink what he calls “a dangerous pattern of favoritism and exclusion” within the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Adeoye accused Oyetola of promoting division through his open support for Bola Oyebamiji, warning that such actions could destabilize the party and repeat the mistakes that led to its previous electoral setback.

OPEN LETTER TO HIS EXCELLENCY Alhaji. GBOYEGA OYETOLA; THROUGH MR BOLA OYEBAMIJI ON THE TOTAL ABSURDITY AND NEPOTISM ON OSUN APC POLITICS AND CALL FOR CAUTION.

Your Excellency, Dear Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, I greet you with profound respect and appreciation. Ever since you entered Osun State politics through the All Progressives Congress;practically in 2018 when destiny threw you up as Executive Governor 2018/2022. It’s my humble assumption that you really savor the splendor to rule over the affairs of our dear state.

I wish to also assume that if you could recall the trajectory of the process and all incidents, you would attest to the fact that it was lord’s doing. I also wish to note that whether you were able to deliver on your party’s manifestos and your wish for the state are debatable issues.

While I sympathize with you over the critical issues of Covid-19 , ENDSARS, and paucity of fund which really limited your propensities to deliver as you might have desired nonetheless critical policy review, infrastructure in heath, education and good Governance can not be glossed over. However, you would agree with me that you have been accused of not been a unifier. Your open preference for just about four members of your 40 cabinet members and those in other MDA says a lot about your personality.

Imagine if you were not partial in power how could less than ten of the 40-man cabinet are following your prefer choice of succession. The brightest of them are not tolling your line. I think scoring 10 over 40 would not make anyone pass any test. It makes you not to be a team player.

If I may tell you, the relationship between Osogbo and Iragbiji which was ruptured through attempts to hijack opportunities to Iragbiji wouldn’t have given you a second term and can not assist whoever you identify with as a successor because Osogbo would think twice before they vote for your stooge.

All critical and brilliant individuals we saw with you in 2018 have almost left you. Where are the Famurewas, the Jamius;though he still speaks for you in the media but it’s obvious that life is not easy for him as he looks pale and fragile, the Bambams, the Bode Olaonipekuns, KLM, LATEEFAT Giwa, the Binuyos, Sola Oladepo, Akol, Aleem Bakare and Nathaniel Agunbiade to mention a few of those who have deserted you but not forgetting Hussein Olaniyan your boyhood friend.

Does it not worry that in three years it appears unnecessary to you to sit down with your cabinet members just for once? Such an opportunity could have strengthened your team against selective reward that has destroyed the team and your members now scattered all over the place including your deputy whose road to his house Oyebamiji and Remi Omowaye refused to even grade?

IMPLICATIONS OF YOUR DECISIONS

I wish to draw your attention to the activities of the political illiterate and neophyte you are seeking to inflict on the good people of Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji AMBO who PDP e-rats would call AMUBO has almost destroyed the peace of the state through gangsterism and uncoordinated campaign strategy behaving like he already have the ticket you have assured him. Recall the branding of IleriOluwa house as his campaign office? Recall that in 2018 you didn’t use Oranmiyan house as your campaign headquarters? Why are you now trading away your leadership by having a preference among the 13 aspirants? And you are addressed as the leader of the party?

Sir, it is on record that, Oyebamiji was in Gbongan for consultations with the local party leadership but what happened afterwards? I wish to inform you that promoted thugs and street urchins led by Kaseem Oyewale a.k.a Asiri Eniba and one the Law engaged in street brawls with the Ajanakus leaving so many leaders and party members opposed to the political idiocy you are promoting injured and landed them in hospitals. An internal affairs of the party? The same day Oyebamiji’s thugs fought in Isokan local government boundary with Irewole. Better to say he fought all through in his federal constituency. Is that not laughable?

The latest social upheavals was on Tuesday 28th October 2025 when the AMBO group started a WALK TO LIVE hiring the fellowship of Osun Hunters Association from Stadium to your IleriOluwa house. But at OgoOluwa specifically at Iyiola Omisore campaign headquarters the hunters under the influence of drugs fired Dane Guns into his premises. I’m sure the bad remarks of INEC REC is everywhere in the media space and the complaints of Osun State police command to the party is also already on your table.

WHAT WOULD HAPPEN

If you succeed in imposing Oyebamiji, be prepared for another defeat. Why? As the Chief Economic Adviser to your government and the later part of Rauf Aregbesola administration Osun workers really suffered. He left whopping 14 billion Naira in that account of the state and yet it was difficult to pay arrears of salaries and pensions which cost a little above 1 billion naira monthly. Six billion could have paid 7 months arrears.

Should you impose him, what would you tell Senator Iyiola Omisore who aided you to become a governor at the first instance when Ademola Adeleke defeated you at first ballot in 2018? What will you tell Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun, Omooba Dotun Babayemi, SRJ, Baba Akande and the likes?

Please note, this is my genuine mindset for adjustment and not in any way to ridicule your leadership, a stitch in time may save you NINE.

Thank you.

Yours in Osun Development,

Adedamola Adeoye*
