APC Retains Zoning Formula for NWC Positions Ahead of 2026 Convention

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed that the existing zoning arrangement for National Working Committee (NWC) positions remains in force ahead of its upcoming 2026 National Convention.
In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the zoning formula guiding the distribution of national offices across states and geo-political zones will continue to apply during the convention.
According to the statement, the clarification follows the release of the party’s 2026 Schedule of Nationwide Congresses, National Convention, and Related Activities.
The ruling party therefore advised all aspirants seeking national offices to strictly comply with the established zoning framework while purchasing and submitting their Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms.
“The existing zoning arrangement for National Working Committee positions across states within the geo-political zones remains valid and applicable to the upcoming National Convention,” the statement said.
Morka urged aspirants to be strictly guided by the zoning formula, noting that it remains the official framework governing eligibility for the various national positions.
The APC’s National Convention is expected to bring together party leaders, delegates, and stakeholders from across the country to elect or ratify members of the National Working Committee, the party’s highest administrative organ responsible for the day-to-day management of its affairs.
