Military Breakthrough: Notorious Bandit Kingpin Apprehended in Precision Strike

In a significant victory for regional security, the Nigerian Army has officially confirmed the arrest of Fidelis Guyama, a dreaded mastermind responsible for a long-standing reign of terror across the Middle Belt. Military authorities verified that the high-profile suspect was apprehended on December 21, 2025, during a precision, intelligence-led raid conducted by the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army.

The operation was executed by troops attached to the Forward Operating Base in Wukari, serving under the Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke. Acting on verified intelligence, the tactical team tracked and cornered Guyama within the Vaase community of Ukum Local Government Area in Benue State. This arrest marks a major breakthrough for security forces, as Guyama had long been a priority on the wanted lists of multiple agencies across Taraba and Benue states for his alleged role in orchestrating a string of kidnappings, armed robberies, and killings.

Official military reports describe Guyama as a central figure in a criminal network that frequently operated under the guise of herdsmen to destabilize communities across Taraba, Benue, and Plateau states.

Beyond his direct involvement in violent raids, verified intelligence links him closely to another notorious bandit leader known as Dogo. Together, their syndicates have been identified as the primary threat to travelers and local residents along the strategic Kente-Wukari road.

The Commander of the 6 Brigade, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the troops for their operational precision and professionalism throughout the mission. He characterized the capture as a decisive blow to the logistical and operational capabilities of criminal networks in the region. Following his capture, Guyama was processed through the Nigeria Police Force at the Vaase Outpost, where his identity and status as a wanted fugitive were further validated by regional police divisions.

Fidelis Guyama remains in custody as security agencies conduct further investigations into the full extent of his network. Military officials have assured the public that this successful operation is part of a broader, sustained effort to restore peace and ensure the safety of commuters and farming communities along the border areas of the North Central zone.
