Terrorists Strike Again in Kwara: Farmers Abducted, Two Killed Hours After Church Attack

Yet again, another terrorist attack happened in Kwara State, barely 24 hours after the Church attack in Eruku, Kwara State.

The incident occurred on November 19, when the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, Kwara State, was attacked during service.

A widely circulated video that left viewers distressed captured the moment worshippers were forced to scramble for safety as gunshots rang out outside the church. Members hid under chairs, while others ran into the bushes. In the chaos, two congregants were killed and several others abducted.

Eyewitnesses told Channels Television that the attackers stormed the area “suddenly and heavily armed,” forcing many residents to flee into the surrounding bushes.

“They came around nightfall and started shooting. Two people were killed instantly, and we don’t even know how many were taken,” one resident said.

“We have begged the local and state governments for help, but nothing concrete has come. We are living in fear every day,” he added.

Another resident said Eruku has been under “perpetual attacks for the last three weeks,” with bandits striking repeatedly despite several distress calls.

While the government has yet to issue a statement on the church attack, it appears the violence did not end there. Terrorists killed two rice farmers and abducted two others in Bokungu village, also in Kwara State.

The attack on the farmers happened just hours after the Eruku church incident. Residents are urging security agencies and the state government to urgently intervene and intensify operations to prevent further loss of lives.

According to a community source, the attackers arrived abruptly and surrounded the farmers as they were gathering harvested rice.

“It has been confirmed that bandits struck again at Bokungi under the Lafiagi Emirate. Four people were abducted. Information is still emerging,” the source said.

Residents reported that the gunmen operated for several minutes without resistance, forcing the farmers into the bush before taking them to an unknown destination.
