Tinubu Celebrates Matawalle on Birthday, Commends Anti-Banditry Efforts

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, on the occasion of his birthday, praising his service to the nation and his contributions to Nigeria’s security architecture.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President highlighted Matawalle’s longstanding commitment to public service, describing him as a dedicated teacher, former governor and valued member of the administration’s Renewed Hope team.
Tinubu noted that Matawalle, who served as Governor of Zamfara State between 2019 and 2023, played a significant role in advancing development initiatives in his home state before assuming his current portfolio at the Federal Ministry of Defence.
The President particularly commended the minister’s efforts in supporting ongoing operations against banditry and terrorism, stressing that collective resolve remains critical in bringing perpetrators of violence to justice.
“All hands must be on deck to bring the agents of evil to justice,” the statement quoted the President as saying.
Tinubu further observed that the minister’s birthday coincides with a memorable period in his family life, as he recently performed the marriage ceremony for his children, describing the moment as both special and auspicious.
The President prayed for many more years of good health and impactful service for Matawalle, expressing confidence in his continued contributions to strengthening national security and advancing the administration’s objectives.
