Gov. Uzodimma Commends NASENI as Agency Commissions Skills Acquisition Centre in Imo

Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has commended the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) for deepening technology-driven empowerment through the commissioning of a Skills Acquisition Centre in Owerri under the NASENI Sustainable Empowerment Programme (NSEP).

The Governor described the initiative as a strategic investment in youth development, noting that technology and skills acquisition remain critical to economic prosperity, entrepreneurship and job creation.

Reacting to the commissioning, the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NASENI, Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, said the centre reflects the Agency’s commitment to building the skilled workforce required to drive Nigeria’s industrial transformation.

According to Halilu, the facility is designed to equip young Nigerians with practical, industry-relevant skills that promote innovation, self-reliance and sustainable livelihoods, in line with NASENI’s strategic focus on Creation, Collaboration and Commercialization.

He thanked Governor Hope Uzodimma for his support and Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi for partnering with NASENI to deliver the project, describing the collaboration as a model for expanding opportunities and unlocking the potential of Nigeria’s youth through technology and skills development.
