Matawalle Accepts Appointment to 2027 APC Presidential Campaign Council

Former Zamfara State Governor and Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Matawalle, has accepted his appointment as Deputy Director, Security and Intelligence I, of the 2027 All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council.
Matawalle expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the APC for the confidence reposed in him, describing the appointment as both an honour and a call to greater service, responsibility and sacrifice.
In a statement following his appointment, Matawalle said he was honoured to be called upon to serve again in an assignment of national importance, drawing on his experience from the 2023 presidential campaign.
He recalled serving as Zonal Coordinator, North-West, of the APC Presidential Campaign Council during the 2023 election, where he worked across the seven states of the region in support of President Tinubu’s presidential bid.
According to him, the experience remains an important chapter of his political career and has further prepared him for the responsibilities of the new assignment.
Matawalle said his return to the Security and Intelligence Standing Committee would be marked by renewed commitment, greater energy and strategic thinking, adding that the lessons and relationships developed during the 2023 campaign would be valuable in the task ahead.
He also highlighted his continued support for the Tinubu administration since the 2023 election, noting that he founded the Tinubu Again Movement, a nationwide platform established to communicate the administration’s policies, programmes and achievements to Nigerians.
The former governor also expressed gratitude to the leadership of the APC for giving him another opportunity to serve the party and the country.
He pledged to work closely with the Director-General and other members of the Presidential Campaign Council, stressing the importance of unity, professionalism and collective effort in achieving the party’s objectives ahead of the 2027 election.
“I accept the appointment fully and will redouble my efforts to ensure that the confidence reposed in me is justified by results,” Matawalle said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda and pledged his loyalty, diligence and dedication to the campaign assignment.
Matawalle concluded by praying for the continued success of President Tinubu, the APC and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
