BREAKING: Buhari Orders Ministers With Political Ambitions To Resign
President Muhammadu Buhari has directed that all members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) running for elective offices to submit their letters of resignation on or before Monday the 16th of May, 2022.
The information and Culture Minister, Lai Mohammed, disclosed this on Wednesday after the Federal Executive Council meeting.
The affected council members are:
Presidential Aspirants
Ministers of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation Abubakar Malami,
Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi;
Minister of Nigeria Niger Delta, Godswill Akpabio;
Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige;
Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Ogbonnaya Onu;
Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba,
Gubernatorial Aspirant
Minister of State Mines and Steel, Uche Ogar, (Abia State); and
Senatorial Aspirant
Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen (Plateau State)
The Minister of Information further stated that this mandate excludes the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo because he is an elected member of the cabinet.
