Election Observer Laud INEC, Security Agencies Over Conduct of 2023 Polls
Election Observers, Center For Policy Advocacy and Leadership development (CPALD) and ten other election observer monitors on Monday, commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting what it termed as a much-improved Presidential and National Assemby election in Nigeria.
Haven monitored the Presidential and National Assembly’s election that held in Nigeria last Saturday across the country, CPALD in his interim assessment of the process thus far urged INEC to ensure that the progress made with improvements in its conduct of the election are deepened and sustained.
The CSO’s, further commended the professionalism and conduct of the security agencies deployed for election duty.
In a statement by it’s Director of Media and Publicity, Arowolo Solomon, read: “The 2023 Presidential and National Assembly’s Election appears to have been a marked improvement on recent previous elections.
“INEC’s processes appeared to operate smoothly. The logistics issues of distribution of materials, deployment of staff and challenges in the Voters’ Register were significantly reduced. In addition, security personnel acted professionally.
He encouraged Nigerians to participate in the remaining polls, stressing that it is the only opportunity they have to elect credible leaders for the next four years.
He described the voting process as ‘good and well arranged, adding that the deployment of technology has made the elections different from previous ones and no incedent of vote buying anywhere thus far.
Lastly, we appeal to politicians to stop provocative statement and wait for declaration of result by INEC.
