“Blatant Falsehood”: Magu Denies Giving Any Moneys To Osinbajo

The suspended EFCC chair, Ibrahim Magu has denied ever giving money to Prof. Yemi Osinbajo SAN, GCON, Vice President of Federal Republic of Nigeria and all the allegations levelled against him before the Presidential Panel probing him over alleged sundry claims.

Magu said this in a letter by his lawyer, Wahab Shittu, to the panel headed by retired Justice Isa Salami. He said that all the allegations against him were false and borne out of bad blood.

This is coming at the backdrop of investigations into the alleged mismanagement of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) by the Presidential Investigation Committee on Recovered Assets and Finances headed by Hon Justice Isa Ayo Salami (Rtd).

In his letter Ibrahim Magu, a now promoted Commissioner of Police, debunked all allegations and rumors on the charges made against him by the committee, citing them as trumped-up allegations designed to tarnish his image and rubbish the credibility and image of the EFCC.

On the allegations that claimed that the embattled chair gave N4 Billion to the Vice President, Magu debunked it saying that the allegation is “complete falsehood designed to tarnish the hard-earned reputation of the Vice President”

He stated that his he has never given any sum to the Vice President ever.

“Our client strongly denies this falsehood against the respected Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Our client has never given the sum of N4billion or any sum at all to Prof. Yemi Osinbajo SAN, GCON, Vice President of Federal Republic of Nigeria as wrongly reported. This allegation is complete falsehood designed to tarnish the hard-earned reputation of the Vice President and our client.” The letter read.
