The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has temporarily placed popular musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, also known as K1 De Ultimate, on a no-fly list following an incident at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
The decision, announced after a thorough review of reports submitted by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and other stakeholders, is part of ongoing investigations into the musician’s conduct at the airport.
According to NCAA, the move aligns with Nigeria’s Civil Aviation Regulations and established safety protocols aimed at safeguarding airport operations. The regulatory authority emphasized that the action was necessary to preserve the integrity of the aviation system and uphold the principle that all passengers—regardless of their social or public status—must adhere to conduct that ensures aviation safety.
Both NCAA and FAAN reiterated their zero-tolerance policy towards any form of aggression, non-compliance, or disruption within the airport environment.
FAAN, in a statement signed by its Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mrs. Obiageli Orah, confirmed that it is working closely with security agencies and regulatory bodies to conduct a full and impartial investigation. Upon conclusion, the appropriate legal or administrative steps will be taken based on the outcome of the probe.
The authority also reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining professionalism, discipline, and safety across all Nigerian airports.
