Nigerians commend Osinbajo over Lawal’s sack

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo yesterday sent shock waves across the nation when he announced the unexpected dismissal of the former Director-General of the Department of State Security (DSS), Lawal Daura.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Acting President on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, announced the sack of the DG DSS via his verified Twitter handle on Tuesday afternoon.
He tweeted, “AgP Yemi Osinbajo has directed the termination of the appointment of the DG of the DSS, Mr. Lawal Musa Daura.
“Mr. Daura has been directed to hand over to the most senior officer of the State Security Service until further notice.”
A cross-section of Nigerians have taken to the social media to commend the Acting President for the bold step he took is salvaging Nigeria democracy from reign of impunity.
“People say whenever Buhari is out of Nigeria things works fine. Today Osinbajo has shown how leadership should be. Firing Lawal Daura for negligence is a singular act of courageous leadership that must be commended. Osinbajo shd use his acting capacity & do things Buhari can’t,’ A.A Jari (@Bahaushee) twitted.
On her part, Esther Ogun-Yusuf (@MaupeO) said “The story has only just got interesting since morning -Lawal Daura sacked! Almost thought this was unthinkable not to talk of the actual act.”
Commenting using(@nicholasibekwe), Nicholas Ibekwe said “Report indicates that SSS operatives are jubilating at the news of the sacking of their boss, Lawal Daura.”
Ex aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri twitting with (@renoomokri), wrote “I commend acting President @ProfOsinbajo for sacking the Director-General of the Daura Secret Service, Lawal Daura. By this action, Professor Osinbajo has separated himself from the anti democratic tendencies. VP Osinbajo used wisdom to sack Daura. According to villa sources, Osinbajo first of all summoned the DG DSS to his office at exactly 1:15 PM. While he was still talking to Lawal Daura, Laolu @AkandeOJ was directed to release a statement announcing his sack in true mafiosi style!”
“Lawal Daura going is good riddance…long long long overdue,” was how Kayode Ogundamisi (@ogundamisi) commended the Acting President.
Twitting using @Chxta, Chxta said “Terminating Lawal Daura’s appointment was the very least that Osinbajo should have done.From a tactical viewpoint, it’s an excellent move.”

On his part, Michael S. Ezea on Facebook, wrote “I must commend the Ag President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo for this bold move yeterday. Sacking of the DG of DSS is long overdue but it’s better late than never. No matter what the reasons adduced may be, the sacking is a good riddance to a bad rubbish.”
