Wike Commends Tinubu for Lifting Rivers Emergency Rule
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for lifting the emergency rule in Rivers State, describing the decision as a restoration of democratic governance and a reaffirmation of the President’s commitment to peace and stability.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike said the President’s timely intervention not only safeguarded the state but also renewed the confidence of the people of Rivers in his leadership.
The Minister applauded residents of the state for their faith in President Tinubu and for their continued support as he works to return Nigeria to a path of progress and development.
Wike also urged political stakeholders in Rivers to work together in the collective interest of the state, while cautioning against the activities of those who seek to exploit crises for personal gain.
“From Rivers State going forward, the only news that will emanate will be that of peace, progress, and development,” Wike stated.
