Matawalle Hosts Homeland Protectors for Strategic Defence Partnership Talks

As part of ongoing efforts to bolster Nigeria’s defence capacity through private sector collaboration, the Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, MON, received the leadership of Homeland Protectors and Supplies Ltd., led by its Chairman, Mr. Muhammad Ali bin Aadi, at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters, Ship House, Abuja.

The high-level engagement focused on laying the groundwork for a long-term joint venture (JV) between Homeland Protectors and Supplies Ltd. and the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON). Deliberations centred on strategies for capacity-building, advanced technology transfer, and enhanced support for Nigeria’s evolving defence and security architecture.

Dr. Matawalle reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to advancing indigenous capabilities in defence production and innovation.

He further noted that private sector partnerships are in line with the provisions of the newly enacted DICON Act, signed into law by His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. The Act mandates that all military procurement be routed through DICON—firmly positioning it at the heart of Nigeria’s defence industrial ecosystem.
