Progressive Youth Forum Applauds President Tinubu's Choice of Dr. Bio and Mr. Olawande as Youth Ministers

The Progressives Forum (TPF), formerly known as the All Progressives Youth Forum (APYF), has hailed President Bola Tinubu for the nomination of 37-year-old Dr Jamila Bio as Minister of Youth, and its Ondo State Coordinator, 34-year-old Mr. Ayo Olawande as Youth Minister of State.

In a statement jointly signed by interim Chairman, Abuh Andrew and Secretary, Segun Tomori, the TPF saluted the President for keeping to his campaign promise as encapsulated in the “Renewed Hope” agenda to put Nigerian youth on the driver’s seat of governance.

“We received with great excitement yesterday, the cheering news of the nomination of Dr. Jamila Bio as Minister of Youth and, more importantly, our vibrant Ondo State coordinator, Mr Ayo Olawande, popularly called “Ayo wisdom” as Minister of State for Youth.

“Mr. President has once again given verve to his campaign promise of youth inclusion and is indeed championing an unprecedented paradigm shift in our nation’s politics with the youth now taking their rightful place in the driver’s seat of Ministries and government agencies”.

“We thank Mr. President for harnessing the immense power of innovation, fresh ideas, and the bustling energies of the youth to set Nigeria on the path of development and greatness. We urge that this continues in subsequent appointments in parastatals and agencies of government. ”

“The Nigerian youth represents 65% of her population and continues to blaze the trail in tech, entertainment, arts amongst other sectors on the African continent, now is the time to replicate that feat in the governance of the nation”.

TPF urged the new Ministers of Youth-designate to justify the confidence reposed in them by the President by crafting innovative programmes, conceptualising far-reaching policy initiatives that will address youth bulge and give opportunities to millions of less privileged youth to thrive.

The forum also congratulated its staunch member, Moremi Ojudu, on her appointment as Senior Special Assistant to the President (SSAP) on Community Engagement, and Dr. Yetunde Adeniji, a prominent APC young stakeholder as SSAP (school feeding), wishing them success in their new national assignments.
