Despite Social Media Frenzy, Tinubu Coasting To Victory In Lagos State
The social media was abuzz yesterday with posts showing victories by the Labour Party in several Polling Units in Lagos State, especially in areas populated by South Easterners.
Mr. Peter Obi recorded wins in some polling units around areas such as Surulere, FESTAC, Alaba, Oshodi, and Eti Osa.
However, these polling units, forming less than five percent of the over 13,000 Polling Units in Lagos State, were no match for an eventual Bola Tinubu landslide in the state.
Collated results monitored by our correspondents show that Tinubu has won most of the Local Governments in Lagos State.
In Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State, APC is recorded to have won by 64,956 votes with Labour Party following closely at 38,118 votes, while Atiku’s PDP following poorly at 11,057 votes.
In Ikeja Local Government, the APC won with 45,586 votes, with the Labour Party following at 26,725 votes; likewise Alimosho, the APC recorded 56,172 votes with the Labour Party getting 32, 992 votes.
Mr. Tinubu also won Ajeromi/ Ifelodu and Amuwo-Odofin LGAs with over 21,000 votes in both areas.
According to official figures, Lagos has 13,325 polling units across the State’s 20 local governments.
Results from over 9,000 polling units collated so far, show that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is in an early lead of the race in the State.
